World Vision

Littleflyers initiative is the sponsorship of a child, under the World Vision UK Make Poverty History programme.

World Vision currently has over 1000 children waiting for a sponsor. For some, Child Sponsorship can even mean the difference between life and death.

The children are encouraged to draw pictures and write to the sponsored child and we will receive regular updates to chart their progress.

We will also work with the children, at their appropriate age and understanding to cover the following issues:-

Food for the World
Water
Aid
Debt relief
Poverty and the environment

From around the world

Throughout the year we have planned themed weeks encompassing cultures and cuisine including; Indian, Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian and British.

The children will explore the different customs, create masks and flags and will learn and sample a variety of food.

Games

All children love to play games, whether it is alone, in pairs, or in larger groups. Although a lot will depend on their ages and social skills

Fun with food

For some children, mealtimes can become something of a battleground. By encouraging them to be interested and actively involved in what comes out of the kitchen and appears on their plates, it is much easier to tempt them into different kinds of food.

Food that grows
Food for energy
Sugar and spice
The healthy-food test

Rainy-day games

Living in a country with one of the most changeable climates in the world, it is little wonder that we spend so much time thinking about the weather. But bad weather need not spoil our fun.

Memory games
Drawing games
Mystery games
Homemade games

In the garden

Gardening is good fun. Whether it is indoors or out, the children derive great pleasure from planting their own seeds, caring for them and watching them grow into something pretty to look at or something good to eat

Indoor gardening
Vegetable and herbs
Fun with flowers
